Khagaria: The body of one 52-year-old Bengo Yadav, who worked at a rice mill in Nazimabad of
Telangana, was brought to his native village, Shiromani Tola in Jorawarpur Nayagaon panchayat under Parbatta police station in Khagaria district, on Thursday.
Yadav lost his life on Tuesday after a large stack of rice bags fell on him while he was unloading a truck at the rice mill. Despite being rushed to a nearby private clinic by his coworkers, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
According to family sources, the victim's family received a compensation of Rs1 lakh. Local ward member Tuntun Yadav has appealed to the district magistrate to provide ex-gratia support to the bereaved family, noting that Yadav was the sole breadwinner. He is survived by his wife and three children.
Body fished out: The SDRF team on Thursday fished out the body of a 20-year-old youth from a rivulet near Lagar village under Parbatta police station in Khagaria district. The deceased, identified as Bittu Kumar of the same village, was missing since Tuesday. He might have drowned while negotiating the rivulet along with his cattle heads, said SHO Arvind Kumar, adding that the body was sent to the Sadar hospital for postmortem.
