Bettiah: In a bid to strengthen security along the India-Nepal border in West Champaran, a joint inspection was carried out on Sunday by Bagaha SP Ramanand Kaushal, the commandant of the 21st Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), the SDPO and personnel of Nepal Police.
During the inspection, senior officials reviewed security arrangements in the border region, joint patrolling mechanisms, surveillance of suspicious activities, and measures to curb smuggling and other illegal operations. They also assessed coordination among security agencies deployed along the sensitive border belt.
Personnel from the SSB, local police and other agencies concerned participated in the exercise, which focused on enhancing vigilance and ensuring swift action against cross-border crimes and unlawful activities.
The SP said, “Maintaining peace, security and law and order in the India-Nepal border region is our top priority. Regular joint inspections and coordinated patrolling by Bihar Police, SSB and Nepal Police are helping strengthen border security and check smuggling as well as other illegal activities. We are committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents living in the border areas.”
The SP and the SSB commandant directed security personnel deployed along the border to remain alert and carry out their duties with greater coordination and professionalism. They also emphasised the need for continued cooperation among all agencies to ensure effective border management and maintain peace in the region.
