Pensions must reach beneficiaries by 10th of every month: Samrat
Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Monday directed that payments under all social security pension schemes must be credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts on the 10th of every month without fail. Chairing a review meeting of the social welfare department, he stressed strict adherence to timelines so beneficiaries receive support on time.
The CM also ordered close, technology-based monitoring of services delivered at Anganwadi centres. He said regular and effective functioning of all Anganwadi centres across the state must be ensured so that prescribed services reach beneficiaries within the scheduled time. Social welfare minister Shweta Gupta was present during the review meeting.
Samrat instructed that 100% attendance of Anganwadi Sevikas and Sahayikas, along with targeted children, must be ensured. He underlined that stronger Anganwadi centres directly contribute to better child development outcomes.
He said improving the state’s figures on ‘stunting’ and ‘wasting’ is a top priority. To expand coverage, he directed that the scope of Parvarish Yojana and other social welfare schemes be widened so the maximum number of eligible beneficiaries are included. He also called for a review to enhance benefits provided under these schemes.
The CM further directed that necessary action be taken to fill vacant posts in the social welfare department. He asked officials to explore possibilities of support through corporate social responsibility to strengthen Anganwadi operations. He emphasised effective implementation, transparency, and time-bound monitoring of all schemes so that weaker and deprived sections receive the full benefit of govt welfare initiatives.
In another review meeting on the satellite township project, Samrat said development of 11 satellite townships must be completed in a time-bound manner. He directed that obstacles related to land acquisition, approvals, and other administrative processes be resolved promptly, with regular monitoring as per the stipulated timeline. He also asked officials to improve coordination among departments to accelerate work on all 11 townships.
