“It’s not clear if Sushant committed suicide or was thrown off the terrace of the building where the party took place,” the SHO added.
Diwakar said, “Sushant was a friend of Lipika Kumari (21) and Himanshu Kumar (24), who stay as live-in partners in one of the rented flats located on the fourth floor of the building. The party was held in Lipika and Himanshu’s house.” He added all those attending the party went to the terrace between 3am and 4am.
Diwakar said, “Himanshu and four others ran away after the incident. Lipika has been detained by police for questioning.” He added, “The matter seems to be related to a love affair. It’s not clear if Lipika or any other girl is linked to this.”
The SHO said Sushant was from Masaurhi while Himanshu belongs to Athmalgola. Lipika, who is from Daltonganj, was preparing for competitive examinations along with Himanshu. Sushant was an employee of a mineral water firm.
“No liquor bottles were found in the flat. A member of Sushant’s family has alleged that his friends were behind his death,” Diwakar said. Sushant’s body was handed over to his family after autopsy.
