Mob assaults chain snatcher

PATNA: A mob caught a youth and assaulted him mercilessly while he was escaping after snatching a girl's gold chain at Shiv Nagar under the Beur police station on Thursday.
Police said the incident took place when Sunita Kumari, daughter of one Arun Sharma, was on way to a local temple to perform puja. As the youth snatched her chain, she raised an alarm.Local assembled and caught the youth. He was later handed over to police.
Phulwarisharif SDPO Deelnawaz Ahmad said the youth has been identified as Raj Kumar, a resident of Wajidpur in Hajipur.
