Mega drive from June 11 to 17 for correction of land records: Min

Patna: The revenue and land reforms department will conduct a mega drive across the state from June 11 to 17 for correction of land records, mutation on the basis of succession and partition in the family. Making the announcement, minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal said on Wednesday that the govt is fully committed to the speedy disposal of cases concerning the correction of land records, mutation based on succession and partition for lakhs of landholders in the state.

Chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit, who was present at the press meet, said all DMs will be involved to ensure the success of this special drive in a mission mode. “It will also help in the farmers’ registry during the ongoing Agri Stack campaign in the state till June 30,” he said. Warning departmental officials, Jaiswal said this campaign should not be treated merely as a formality. “Meeting the targets during the special camps will be the personal responsibility of the circle officers (COs) and revenue officers (ROs) concerned. The work will be regularly monitored at the departmental level, and progress will be reviewed,” he said.

The minister said applications from lakhs of raiyats (landholders) are pending, which is a serious matter. He said special emphasis would be placed on two key tasks during the special camp: Scanning all applications received during the mega-campaign, and uploading all applications to the relevant portals. Subsequently, in the third phase, the speedy disposal of applications will be ensured so that people do not face unnecessary delays regarding land-related matters, he said.

The minister directed the officials to complete pending tasks without interruption during the special campaign. There will be no holiday even on Sunday. Staff posted in all blocks will be engaged in this work. The minister added that the services of special survey amins working in most districts of the state would also be utilised to ensure the campaign’s success.

Jaiswal said the state govt had conducted a revenue-related mega-campaign from Aug 16, 2025, to Sept 20, 2025 to collect applications from landowners regarding the correction of errors in digital land records (jamabandi), the digitisation of omitted records, and mutations based on succession and partition. A total of 46 lakh applications were received across the state during the drive.

A target was set to dispose of all applications by March 31, 2026. Despite this, the work remained incomplete in several districts. According to departmental data, only 81.91% of the applications have been scanned so far, while merely 26.43% have been uploaded to the relevant portals, Jaiswal said.
