Man shot dead in Patna's Dhanarua

PATNA: A man was shot dead by criminals while he was on way to a Shiva temple to offer prayers on the last Somwari of Shrawan. The incident occurred at Fazalchak village under the Dhanarua police station area in Patna. Police said the man, Roshan Kumar (25), was probably murdered over a property dispute.

SHO of Dhanarua police station Kumar Satyendra said the criminals fired 4-5 bullets, killing Kumar on the spot. "It is not clear which weapon was used in the murder. No empty cartridge was found at the spot. It seems the criminals took away the empty bullet shells," he said.

"The victim's father has lodged an FIR against his (Kumar's) cousins. They had a dispute over a piece of ancestral land. Raids are on to arrest the killers," the SHO added.
