patna: rashtriya janata dal (rjd)'s rajya sabha member vijay singh yadav, in a letter to rjd supremo laloo prasad, has urged him to immediately remove bihar school examination board (bseb) administrator subhash sharma and reconstitute the board to end the ongoing indefinite strike of bseb employees. the rs member said in his letter that the board was superseded about six years back and no strike took place before the appointment of sharma as administrator.
while apprising the rjd chief of the administrator's autocratic style of functioning, he said the board functioning has remained completely paralysed due to the strike of the employees who have been making a one-point demand to remove sharma.incidentally, the board employees' union has already submitted a memorandum, signed by more than a dozen mlas, to the chief minister, demanding the removal of sharma, who was terrorising the employees. rajendra prasad yadav, an mla, in a separate letter to chief minister rabri devi on saturday, also drew the attention of the state government towards the pending demand of the striking employees. he reminded the chief minister of the resolution taken by the striking employees not to work under the present administrator. he said the work in the board has been badly affected due to the strike of the employees and it is not possible for the examination board to hold the annual matriculation examination in time unless the strike ends.the mla requested the chief minister to immediately take steps to reconstitute the board and initiate measures to end the strike. meanwhile, the bihar pradesh madhyamik shikshak-shikshaketar karmachari mahasangh, in a press release on saturday, said its members organised a daylong dharna in protest against the examination board functioning. according to the release of the mahasangh, although there is one law for all the schools in the state, the board has adopted different policies for different schools. the mahasangh has decided to gherao the board office on january 16 to protest the policy of discrimination allegedly adopted by the board.
