Develop 11 mega industrial parks, create 50k-acre land bank: CM
Patna: Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday directed officials to plan and develop 11 mega industrial parks across Bihar and set up food parks in all 38 districts, aiming to accelerate industrial growth and expand employment opportunities. He also instructed the administration to ensure adequate land availability for industrial expansion, and create a land bank of 50,000 acres to support upcoming projects and investor requirements.
The directions were issued while he was chairing a high-level review meeting of the industries department at Sankalp Sabhagar in Lok Sevak Awas here. Samrat said Bihar must be developed into an attractive destination for investors and asserted that the state does not lack resources. He reiterated that providing a conducive environment for investors to establish industries remains the state government’s top priority.
He emphasized structured engagement with industrialists, industry bodies, and entrepreneurs, stating that their suggestions should be sought, acted upon, and that their issues must be resolved quickly. He also called for faster grievance redressal mechanisms so that operational hurdles do not delay investment decisions or project execution.
To place Bihar among the leading states in 'Ease of Doing Business', Samrat directed that procedures be simplified and made more transparent. He said all industry-related permissions and facilities should be delivered within fixed timelines to strengthen investor confidence.
Samrat highlighted strong potential in food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, and asked officials to accelerate work with these opportunities in view. He also called for steps toward establishing a Textile Industrial Centre in Bihar and for strengthening the startup ecosystem to create new avenues for young people. He again underlined the need for swift resolution of industrial problems.
On land, he directed that the process of making land available for industries be expedited through coordination with relevant departments. He asked District Magistrates to engage with local communities on land acquisition and persuade landowners by offering fair value. He also instructed that stipulated incentives for new industrial units be released on time.
Earlier, industries secretary Kundan Kumar presented an update on ongoing schemes and programmes to boost industrial development, attract investment, and increase employment, along with the future action plan
