On the last day of Chaiti Chhath Puja, devotees eagerly prepared to offer ‘arghya’ to the rising sun, marking the end of the four-day festival.

Women devotees carried traditional bamboo baskets called ‘soop’ and ‘daura’ while performing the rituals, filling the air with Chaiti Chhath songs.

Devotees gathered at several ghats in Patna, including Digha, Collectorate, NIT, and Shahpur Ghat in Danapur, to perform the sacred rituals.

Offering ‘arghya’ with milk and Gangajal symbolises purity and devotion, an important part Chaiti of Chhath Puja.

Astrological meaning of offerings

The final ‘arghya’ was offered during Mrigashira Nakshatra and Shobhan Yoga, adding spiritual and astrological importance to the ritual.

Parks and Zoos opened for devotees

Parks and Patna Zoo opened their gates from 2 pm, giving free access to ‘vratis’ and other devotees to perform their rituals.
