British High Commissioner visits PUSA Agricultural University

Britain

will visit the Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (DRPCAU) in

Samastipur

for finalising the memorandum of understanding (MoU) for student and faculty exchange programme.

Sir Dominic, who visited the university in Samastipur with his team, showed keen interest in the ruins of the Imperial Agriculture College, the first agriculture college started by British rulers in Asia in the 19th Century. The remains of the colleges are located on the premises of DRPCAU.

Academic director of the university, M N Jha, interacted with the High Commissioner and his team to identify possible areas of educational programme in which the DRPCAU and educational institutes in Britain can collaborate. Jha also discussed about the exchange of faculty and students.

University VC Ramesh Chandra Srivastava interacted with the team and apprised Sir Dominic of new initiatives taken by the university in the agricultural sector. Sir Dominic Asquith lauded Srivastava’s initiatives and said the university was doing wonderful work for the benefit of small and marginal farmers in Bihar.

Sir Dominic also visited a mushroom production unit and apiary unit on the university’s campus.
