₹5L looted from finance firm in Sheikhpura
Patna: Around six criminals barged into the branch office of a private finance company near the collectorate building under Town police station area in Sheikhpura district and looted Rs 5 lakh cash after holding employees of the firm hostage at gunpoint on Monday. There were seven employees in the office at the time of the incident.According to police, the incident took place at Mahindra Finance office located on the third floor of a building opposite Sheikhpura district collectorate building. The criminals carried out the incident soon after the office opened around 11am on Monday. About six criminals entered the finance company office posing as customers. Masked criminals held the employees hostage at gunpoint and locked them in a room of the office. They forced the branch manager, Prashant Kumar, to hand over the keys of the currency chest and looted the cash.As soon as the incident was reported, Sadar SDPO, Arvind Kumar Sinha reached along with police force and recorded the statements of the employees. “As per the statements of the branch manager, the criminals looted Rs 5 lakh cash from the locker. They also damaged the CCTV cameras and took away the hard disk with them. The police are trying to get the footage from the server of the finance company’s headquarters. Besides, the CCTV cameras installed in the area are also being scanned to identify the routes taken by the criminals during escape. The police are investigating the matter and soon the culprits behind the bar."
