Noida: The
Samajwadi Party (SP) has written to the Chief Election Commissioner, demanding the transfer of two senior Noida cops. In the letter, SP’s state president Naresh Uttam Patel has alleged electoral malpractice in support of BJP. Patel has claimed the two policemen have been directing personnel to vote for
BJP and create an “atmosphere” for them in the upcoming assembly polls.
A source in the police department said, “These allegations are not true. The department has been taking action against anyone found to be violating the model code of conduct.” Assembly polls will be held in UP in seven phases, starting February 10 when Gautam Budh Nagar will also vote. TNN
