Massive project across 7,200 acres

Noida International Airport is being built over 7,200 acres with plans for 6 runways, making it one of India’s largest greenfield airports.

2/7

Foundation laid by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the airport on 26 November 2021.

Zurich Airport to develop project

YEIDA has earmarked 5,100 hectares, and Zurich Airport International AG is the selected concessionaire for the entire project.

4/7

Phased construction with rising compensation

The airport’s phased construction spans 4,556 hectares, affecting over 34,000 families, with compensation rising from Rs 2,100 to Rs 4,300 per sqm.

5/7

Early operational goal

Phase 1, spread over 1,233 hectares, is expected to become operational by 2023–24—two years before Delhi’s IGI Airport reaches its maximum capacity.

6/7

High impact on locals

The final phases will affect nearly 18,000 families across 14 villages. Seven government schools are set to be relocated.

7/7

Strong connectivity & strategic links

Located just 700m from Yamuna Expressway, the site will be connected via SH-22A, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and the under-construction Palwal-Khurja Expressway, boosting access from NCR and western UP. (All image credit-Yogesh Kumar)

Sheer waste of public wealth on these projects. Instead should have constructed a new capital, our buildings etc so that load on Lyeutens zone is reduced. Lakhs of people would have been given jobs, once complete govt offices shifting, would have compelled people to shift toomment here
