NOIDA: The fate of about 20,000 students of APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) hangs in the balance as the varsity is likely to suspend them on the grounds of incomplete document submission during admission. Terming them cases of 'fake admission', the university did not rule out the possibility of the students having taken advantage of the scholarship scheme for SC/OBC categories.
According to a circular, out of 19,834 students who are likely to be suspended, over 7,000 belong to the SC category.
During a verification process, it was found that out of the total 82,141 students who were admitted in 2016, the documents of 19,834 students were incomplete.
