Construction of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) started four years ago; Terminal 1 inauguration expected by October.

NMIA will become Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s second airport handling commercial airline operations alongside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

NMIA will serve 90 million passengers per year and handle 3.2 million metric tons of cargo annually.

Passengers can choose flights from ‘BOM’ (Mumbai) or ‘NMI’ (Navi Mumbai). Combined capacity of both airports expected to reach 145 million passengers per year by 2032.
