NASHIK: Ashoka Business School (ABS) became an authorized center for two certification programs of Microsoft Office, namely MS Office Specialist Program (MOS) and MS Technology Associate (MTA), becoming the only institute in Nashik to offer these programs. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Microsoft and ABS was signed by Vinay Kunwar, director of Habib Animators Pvt.

Extra-curricular activities at DPS: Delhi Public School (DPS) organized an overnight adventure camp tagged ‘Moonlight Hunt’ on July11 and 12 for children in the age group of 12-15 years. The camp saw participation of students from various schools in and around Nashik.
“The purpose of this camp was to promote creativity and imaginative skills among children and encourage innovative ideas in them. Each child needs a platform to develop as a confident and independent person,” said one of the school officials.
The various activities of the camp included trekking after sundown for a few kilometers around the school campus, collecting natural and discarded items and preparing an innovative presentation with them. Students also prepared ‘khichdi’ in earthen pots on small wooden fires. The chief guest for the program was Dr. Abhijeet Ramole, an eye surgeon from Nashik. He encouraged and motivated the students for their performance and innovative ideas to recycle resources.
The morning session included meditation, yoga and warm up on the school campus football ground.
A presentation was organised at the school by the Rotary Club about inculcation of inter-personal and leadership skills.
Atul Agarwal, chairman of the Interact club and Mugdha Lele conducted the workshop for students of class VIII.
The speakers encouraged the students to volunteer and participate in social causes like cleanliness drives, paper bag making and free distribution to retailers motivating them to use paper bags instead of plastic bags, making eco friendly Ganesh idols, used books donation drive, and blood donation camps for parents.

Poetry recitation and elocution competitions were organised in the school.
Grade 1 students were encouraged to participate in the poetry recitation to make them more confident on stage.
The elocution competition was held as a part of house activity where the school Houses competed with each other through their chosen House members. The topics given to the students were – Honesty is the best policy, A stitch in time saves nine and Books are man’s best friend.
PTA committee established in Rasbihari: Rasbihari International School established its parent-teacher association on July 11 for the current academic year 2015-16.
Parent representative were elected as per the government regulations and the newly elected PTA executive committee members were immediately declared after the process. The entire election process was supervised by the principal Bindu Vijaykumar.
To mark World Population Day, the school library held a program on educating students on the impact of increasing world population. School library head, Nivedita Kamod presented videos which illustrated the increase in population in minutes and seconds, and students were encouraged to discuss the impact of population expansion on natural resources.
GVIS celebrates fruit and shape day: SM Education Society’s Global Vision International School celebrated fruit and shape day for its pre-primary students recently as a part of its monthly theme-based days. The pre-primary students came in their fruit and shape costumes and displayed them in the ‘fruit market’style.
They were given information about the various fruits and their health benefits by the pre-primary co-ordinator Sushma Jadhav.
