17-yr-old girl posts WhatsApp status thanking God, ends life soon after
Nagpur: A17-year-old girl from Anmol Nagar, coming under the jurisdiction of Wathoda police station limits, ended her life after posting a status on WhatsApp expressing gratitude to Almighty. The deceased has been identified as Mahi Atram.Mahi recently cleared her Class 12 examinations. Her father is a medical officer in Girad. According to police, Mahi preferred staying alone and aloof. She also discontinued going to school and pursued education from home. Her WhatsApp status showed she felt unwanted and unaccepted, a police official said.On Thursday (May 28), after dinner, Mahi went into her room and locked it from inside and hanged herself. When her father, Nitish, noticed her absence, he called out to her but received no response. He broke open the door and found her hanging from the ceiling. She was rushed to GMCH but was declared dead.Wathoda cops have registered a case of accidental death. Probe suggests the girl might have taken the extreme step due to feelings of loneliness and depression. No suicide note was found.
