Srirangapatna MLA seeks ministerial post
Mandya: Srirangapatna MLA Ramesh Bandisiddegowda on Sunday asserted that ministerial positions should be allocated on the basis of experience and capability rather than caste considerations.
Stating that he possesses all the qualifications required for a ministerial role, he said he is fully fit to serve in the state cabinet. Speaking to reporters in Mandya, he highlighted his four decades of political experience and noted that he has been elected to the legislative assembly three times. He said his long association with public life and administrative exposure make him well-equipped to shoulder ministerial responsibilities.
Bandisiddegowda also recalled the political contributions of his mother, who served as an MLA but did not get an opportunity to become a minister despite being eligible. He expressed hope that the party leadership would consider his candidature for a cabinet berth this time.
Pointing to his tenure as chairman of the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation, he said he discharged his responsibilities efficiently and maintained a clean administrative record. He added that his aspiration to become a minister has already been conveyed to the party high command. Reiterating his stand, the MLA said experience, commitment to public service and administrative capability should be the key factors in selecting ministers. He said he meets all these criteria and expressed confidence that the party leadership would take an appropriate decision.
