Mysuru: The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre has sent a team of two seismologists to Kodagu following two tremors on Tuesday. The centre has decided to study the micro to minor seismic activity in the area.
“The seismologists will carry out a reconnaissance survey in the villages of Kodagu, besides field observations. They will study the sounds, features of cracks, etc.
A seismic observatory instrument will be installed in Kodagu which will send the report directly to the Master Control Room,” explained Manoj Rajan, the director of KSNDMC.
“We will observe the seismic activities for two weeks. If required, a further study will be carried out,” he said.
