Mumbai: A three-phase rooftop solar project at ACTREC, the Tata Memorial Centre’s cancer research and treatment facility in Navi Mumbai, has been completed. Implemented by the Centre for Environmental Research and Education in partnership with BNP Paribas India, the solar project is expected to save over Rs 37 crore in electricity costs; it will generate 3.59 crore units of power over 25 years. ACTREC director Dr Pankaj Chaturvedi said the initiative would “decrease our carbon footprint”, while deputy director Dr Navin Khattry said it would “enable financial savings that directly support patient care”.
