Mumbai: Monika More to be discharged after transplant

MUMBAI: More than a month after she became the first person to undergo a

hand transplant

here, Monika More (24) will get discharged from the hospital.

“Her dream and, indeed, all dreams have come true,’’ her mother Parvati told TOI on Friday. Monica underwent a marathon

transplant

on August 20 at Global Hospital, Parel. “Monika has been recovering well and undergoes physiotherapy daily though I have been unable to meet her due to protection measures against Covid-19,’’ she added.

Monika had lost her

hand

in an accident at Ghatkopar railway station in 2014 when she was 17.
