Min reads out PM’s tweet lauding CM

Mumbai: Shambhuraje Desai, state minister and member of the Eknath Shinde Shiv Sena, read out Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tweet praising the CM.
Reading out the statement in the legislative assembly on Monday, Desai said, “We want to thank the PM for the tweet and congratulate CM Eknath Shinde for his hard work,” he said, adding late Balasaheb Thackeray and Anand Dighe’s values are ingrained in Shinde.The statement is being seen as an assertion by the Shinde group of PM Modi’s endorsement of Shinde as CM. Desai said Shinde personally supervised the rescue operations at Irshalwadi, climbed up the hill in 1.5 hours and took responsibility for orphaned children.
Taking a swipe at Uddhav Thackeray, Desai said late Balasaheb always said he did not want a Sainik who would sit at home. tnn
