Mumbai: Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) and BMC have signed an agreement for the first phase of a Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant at Mankhurd.The agreement, signed on June 1, marks the formal commencement of project implementation for the facility, which will have a processing capacity of 350 tonnes per day (TPD). Under the project, municipal organic waste sourced exclusively from designated hotels, vegetable markets, and kitchen waste generators across the city will be processed to produce renewable compressed biogas. “The signing of the Concession Agreement marks the commencement of project implementation activities, paving the way for the establishment of one of the city’s key green energy initiatives,” said Mahanagar Gas Ltd in a post on social media X.
