Sant Sawalaram Maharaj Sports Complex Redevelopment – Phase 1

The first phase of the sports complex redevelopment brings a massive upgrade with a multi-storey sports building spread over 25,000 sq. meters. Featuring Olympic-level pools, international-grade indoor arenas, and a 16,000 sq. meter parking facility, it aims to establish Dombivli as a modern sports hub for youth and professionals.

2/7

World-Class Indoor Sports Facilities

The revamped complex will include advanced arenas for badminton, table tennis, karate, judo, squash, snooker, shooting, gymnastics and yoga. Equipped with modern flooring, lighting and safety systems, these facilities are designed to support training, competitions and community sports activities at national and international standards.

Phase 2 – Modern Outdoor Stadium Development

The second phase will introduce a cutting-edge outdoor stadium to complement the indoor complex. Planned with spectator stands, athletic tracks, open training zones and professional-grade turf systems, the stadium will help host major tournaments while promoting outdoor sports culture across Kalyan-Dombivli.

4/7

Leadership Behind the Development Initiatives

These transformative projects—made possible through the efforts of MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde—represent a major push for urban, cultural and youth-centric development in Dombivli. With support from MIDC, KDMC and senior state leadership, the initiatives aim to reshape the region’s civic, sports and cultural infrastructure.

5/7

Eco-Friendly and Architecturally Advanced Memorial Design

Conceptualised by KDMC and Padma Shri Gajanan Mane, the memorial emphasizes sustainability through green materials, efficient energy planning and thoughtful landscaping. Its symbolic installations and immersive layout are crafted to offer visitors an educational yet emotionally powerful experience honoring India’s defence forces.

6/7

Prerna War Memorial Inauguration

The Prerna War Memorial stands as Maharashtra’s first civic-built war tribute, blending modern design with patriotic symbolism. It showcases replicas of INS Vinash, the BrahMos missile, a Tejas fighter jet, a 19th-century cannon, and statues of the three armed forces, inspiring youth toward service and national pride.

7/7

Savitri Bai Phule Auditorium Redevelopment

With a sanctioned budget of ₹15 crore, the auditorium upgrade will transform it into a modern cultural venue. Improvements include an advanced stage setup, enhanced seating, upgraded lighting and sound technologies, and refined audience amenities, strengthening its role as a key centre for arts and performances.
