Statue of equality nears completion
The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial, also called the Statue of Equality, is rapidly nearing completion at Indu Mills in Mumbai. Once finished, it will stand among the tallest statues globally.
A tribute to social justice
Dedicated to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the monument honors his lifelong struggle for equality, justice, and empowerment of marginalized communities in India.
Massive scale and design
The statue will stand at 350 feet, making it one of the tallest in India. The design features Ambedkar holding the Constitution of India, symbolizing his role as its chief architect.
Multifunctional memorial complex
Beyond the statue, the memorial complex will include a museum, library, auditorium, research center, and gardens to educate the public about Ambedkar's life and ideals.
Government oversight and support
Deputy Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Hon. Shri Anna Saheb Bansode, recently inspected the project’s progress and assured support for timely and quality completion.
