MUMBAI: A police guard from Arthur Road jail was allegedly caught sneaking drugs inside the jail late Friday evening. The arrest has once highlighted how cigarettes, beedis, pan masala and drugs are smuggled into jails and are illegally given to inmates for monetary consideration.
This time, jail authorities caught the cop, Vivek Naik, with 70gm of charas and handed him over to NM Joshi Marg police station. He has been arrested under NDPS Act. During a routine check, the police stumbled upon a packet hidden under his inner wear, the police said.
