Mumbai: In a novel move to address the growing number of injuries among Indian cricketers, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (
BCCI) on Wednesday floated an advertisement on its website for the post of Head of Sports Science & Medicine/Academy Physio for all the 38 state cricket associations in India.
A decision in this regard had been taken during the Board’s Special General Meeting (SGM) on May 27 in Ahmedabad.
Those appointed for this post will have to work in coordination with Head Sports Science & Sports Medicine at the National Cricket Academy of the BCCI (Nitin Patel), Sports Science & Sports Medicine team members of the state a association, panel of medical experts of the BCCI, Director of Cricket, NCA (VVS Laxman), Coaching staff of Team India, NCA & state associations, and the captains of respective teams.
