2 bikers killed under truck at Grant Road

MUMBAI: Two

bikers

were killed in an accident at

Grant Road

after their bike was hit by an oncoming

truck

around 3am on Tuesday. The truck driver fled leaving his vehicle at the spot. The deceased — Juman Shaikh (24) and Hemant Joshi (26) — were residents of Ambedkar Nagar at Cuffe Parade. A hit-and-run case has been registered against the truck driver. The police said that the bike-borne men were heading towards home. The police officer investigating the case, Sachin Karande, said that there were hardly any eyewitnesses to but someone said that the biker lost control and came under the wheels of the truck. Both the deceased men were wearing helmets. A few people rushed them to Harkisondas Hospital which is a stone’s throw away from the accident spot. “Joshi was married while Shaikh was a bachelor. The truck hit the side of the bike,” said Karande.
