Meerut: A Class 7 student was forcibly dragged into a sugarcane field and sexually assaulted by four men on Holi. She was then taken to an abandoned house, nearly 50 km away, where they gang-raped her repeatedly and locked her up. Police said the 15-year-old girl was rescued on Sunday evening, and two accused were arrested.
Anupshahr circle officer, Girja Shankar Tripathi, said, "The accused were booked under BNS section of rape and the
Pocso Act. The traumatised girl was rescued from a house in a posh locality in Bulandshahr. She was sent for medical tests and her condition is stable. Two other accused are still on the run."
The girl was removing Holi colours at a village tubewell on Friday when she was kidnapped. The perpetrators also recorded the crime. Police said the accused are daily-wagers and the house -- around 50 km away from her place -- where the minor was locked up belongs to their relative.
In his complaint, the girl's father, a marginalised farmer, said, "My daughter was abducted from near a tubewell, just 200m from home. Initially, when we filed a missing complaint, police tried to ignore us. When she didn't return on Sunday, we met senior police officers and our complaint was taken up."
