Man murdered, body found disposed near dumpyard
Dindigul: A 39-year-old man was found murdered near a dumpyard in Dindigul district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as A Balamurugan, of Chinnalapatti in Dindigul.
According to the police, passersby and nearby residents alerted the Dindigul Taluk police on Monday about an unknown body of a man, lying on the side of the Dindigul-Madurai Road near the Thomaiyarpuram dumpyard. Police immediately reached the spot to investigate. They found that the body had marks of the throat being slit with a sharp weapon, while the hands were tied up with a rope and the mouth gagged with a cloth. Sniffer dogs and forensic examiners were deployed at the spot where the body was found. The body was sent for postmortem examination to Dindigul Govt Medical College Hospital.
Police said that his family filed a complaint after he went missing around three days ago. Balamurugan was married and had two children. He was previously employed at a private finance company before quitting around three months ago. Further probe is on to determine the motive for the murder and trace the accused.
