260 kg of ganja seized in Ramanathapuram; three arrested

MADURAI: The

Ramanathapuram

district police on Monday seized 260 kg of

ganja

from a house near Kenikarai and arrested a man and his two sons.

The accused have been identified as M Navas Khan of Nehru Nagar 5th Street near Kenikarai and his sons, Washim Khan and Abdul Washid.

The police searched the house, based info received by district superintendent of police E Karthick. They found ganja stuffed in bags in a corner of the house.

Police suspect that the accused could have stocked the ganja to be sent to

Sri Lanka

. An electronic weighing scale and polythene bags for packing ganja were also seized.

Police said further inquiries to ascertain the source of ganja and their network were under way.
