2 DMK men stabbed in Dindigul

Dindigul: Police arrested a 27-year-old man for stabbing two DMK functionaries at Vedasandur near Dindigul on Saturday.Police said S T Saminathan, a DMK union secretary for Vedasandur, party member Nachimuthu and other cadres left his farmhouse for the party event to be held in Madurai around 9am on Saturday. The attacker, Manikandan, of Eriyodu, intercepted Saminathan's car, draped a shawl over him and took a photo with him. When Saminathan tried to enter the car, Manikandan suddenly took out a gaff and stabbed him on the back of his neck, police said. When Nachimuthu, tried to thwart the attack, Manikandan attacked him too. Nachimuthu sustained a small cut injury near the stomach.People nearby took both of them to the Vedasandur govt hospital for treatment.The Koombur police registered a case and arrested Manikandan. They are investigating the motive behind the attack.
