Man ends life after wife refuses to shift with him

LUDHIANA: A 22-year-old man has allegedly

committed suicide

by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his house on Saturday. It is alleged that the man had married six months ago and was in a

conflict

with his wife who was not willing to the shift to the city with him. The duo hailed from Uttar Pradesh.


The deceased has been identified as Des Raj, and had been living in Gobindpuri of Jodhewal area.

Niranjan Kumar, cousin of the deceased man, told police that Des Raj wanted his wife to shift to the city with him, but she refused. It was added that he was depressed over this and thus ended his life.

Police were informed about the body hanging from the ceiling on Saturday. Jodhewal police have proceeded with Section 174 of the CrPC in this case.
