Factory worker dies by suicide

Ludhiana: A 32-year-old factory worker allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence following a dispute with his wife. The man had entered into a love marriage approximately one and a half years ago with a woman who recently discovered that he was already married and had children from his first wife. This revelation had reportedly led to frequent altercations between the couple.It is reported that the deceased was previously married and had children from that union; however, following strained relations with his first wife, he began living separately and subsequently married his second wife. She informed the police that she only recently learned of her husband's prior marriage. She admitted to confronting and fighting with him for concealing this significant fact from her. On Tuesday, the duo had another argument, after which the deceased told her to leave the house, and she complied. Later, the deceased called her and requested her to return home, but she refused.During the conversation, the deceased reportedly warned her that he would end his life, an ultimatum that she ignored at the time. Later that night, when she returned to the house, she found him hanging. The Basti Jodhewal police stated that the matter is currently under investigation. The police have also contacted deceased's family members to record their statements and determine the exact sequence of events leading to the tragedy. Officials are looking into the claims regarding the first marriage as part of their ongoing probe into the incident.
