Lucknow: The Lucknow Race Course buzzed with excitement on Sunday as the racing season opened with The Times of India Cup, featuring thrilling contests and vibrant celebrations. Vijay's Joy, owned by Amar Habibullah and ridden by Monu, stole the show in the thoroughbred category, clinching the top position with a stellar performance once again. JN Mathur's Shan-e-Azeem, ridden by Ankit Varma, secured second place, followed by Pinnacle Point, also owned by Amar Habibullah and jockeyed by Deepak Kumar at third position.
The Indian category also delivered exciting moments as Burak, owned by Mohd Abdullah and ridden by Sohil, emerged victorious. Vikas Pandey's Rudra, with Mayank at the reins, claimed second place, while Night Queen, owned by Sikandar Siddiqui and jockeyed by Deepak, came in third.
Adding a touch of glamour, special awards were presented to attendees for their sartorial elegance. Major General Yazdani and Princess won accolades for the best hats (male and female categories). Rashika Srivastava dazzled as the best-dressed lady, while Brig N S Sohal was honoured as the best-dressed gentleman. The title of "Made for Each Other" couple among the young crowd went to Lt Col Vikram and Dipti Mehra, while Manish and Bhumika charmed everyone as the best senior couple.
