RLD plans booth-level committees to boost presence
Lucknow: Aiming to restructure its organisation in UP at the grassroots, the Jayant Chaudhary-led Rashtriya Lok Dal on Friday said booth-level committees comprising seven to eight active members would soon be formed across the state to strengthen its presence.
The decision was taken at the national executive meeting of the party in New Delhi.
In a statement, RLD said the meeting focused on future strategy, organisational expansion, farmer welfare, rural development and social justice. The leadership also stressed the need to increase women’s participation within the organisation.
The national executive discussed the formation of a Central Parliamentary Board. The responsibility for constituting and operating the board was entrusted to Jayant.
RLD national secretary, Anupam Mishra, said the party decided to reorganise the “Chaudhary Charan Singh Vichar Manch” to promote the ideology and legacy of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh among the younger generation.
The party further announced plans to organise training camps for youth workers. These camps will focus on organisational skills, party ideology, political communication and leadership development.
Marking the 125th birth anniversary year of Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh, the RLD said it would organise year-long programmes across the state to highlight his farmer-centric policies and ideological contributions.
