Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh govt is intensifying efforts to improve foundational education in council-run schools under the NIPUN Bharat Mission. During the 2025-26 academic session, teacher diaries have been distributed to 5,83,868 teachers and
Shiksha Mitras to support structured and effective classroom teaching.
In addition to diaries, schools have been equipped with a wide range of academic resources, including reference guides, mathematics kits, big books, workbooks, library books and teaching-learning materials (TLMs). These tools aim to enhance classroom engagement and make learning more interactive and outcome-oriented.
The mission focuses on developing foundational literacy and numeracy skills among children from Balvatika to Grade 2. Activity-based teaching methods are being widely adopted to improve students’ reading, writing and arithmetic abilities, aligning with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020.
Director general of school education Monica Rani highlighted that the NIPUN Lakshya App is being used for regular assessment of students, while the NIPUN Samman Ceremony recognises teachers for excellence, fostering motivation and better teaching practices across schools.
