Lucknow: A beautiful display of martial art

and various traditional games like fencing, sticks and urmi left the people spellbound on Saturday.
A three-day programme for the final selection and training of Uttar Pradesh’s team of Kalaripayattu, which will participate in Khelo India event in Panchkula (Haryana), was inaugurated by former deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma.
“I am delighted to see the performance of various traditional techniques in indigenous sports. Kalaripayattu is the mother of martial arts which is very useful for self-protection for girls. All possible efforts will be made to promote indigenous martial arts in Lucknow,” he said.
BJP leader Aparna Yadav was also present.

said experts from Kerala, Sreejayan, Anshwara, Srilakshmi, and

Keerthana Krishna

have been called by the association to give special training to players.
State chief executive Praveen Garg said that around 250 players are getting training from different districts of the state in the camp. The state team will be announced on June 23.
