Lucknow: Three men nabbed for killing woman, dumping her body

LUCKNOW: The Madiaon police claimed that three people arrested by them had murdered the woman whose body was found in Unnao for allegedly blackmailing them.
Those arrested were identified as Rajneesh Kumar Singh, Kavita Singh and Varun Kumar Mishra. They were arrested from Madiaon on Tuesday for the murder of a woman identified as Ruby Pandey. Ruby's murder came to light when her house help informed her brother that someone else was answering Ruby's phone for the past few days.ACP, Aliganj, Syed Ali Abbas said that the accused, in his confession, told police that he was being blackmailed by the deceased.
He also alleged that the deceased had an obscene photo of the prime accused, which she used to blackmail him. The accused, Rajneesh told police that he gave Rs 20 lakh to Ruby to delete the photos she used for blackmailing him on a daily basis.
Rajneesh also told police, "On April 27, I called Ruby to a rented house in Chinhat on the pretext of a birthday party and smothered her using a pillow. Kavita and Varun helped me in the murder, after which we put her body in a four-wheeler and dumped it in Unnao."
ADCP, North Zone, Prachi Singh said that the police tracked the location of the mobile phone of the deceased with the help of surveillance and arrested the accused.
The four-wheeler used in the crime was also seized by the police.
