An X- ray examination of his stomach conducted at a private hospital in Kondotty revealed seven gold pieces stuck in the intestine. The seizure was carried out by the customs team led by assistant commissioner M Mohamed Rafic, superintendents Dasmalick, Pattrice Joseph, among others.
