Release stalled as theatre, plexes shut down amid #CoronaScare

Along with Indian Museum, Victoria Memorial and National Library,

and auditoriums in the city will also

shut

down till March 31 amid Coronavirus scare. The decision was taken after chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s request to the hall owners.

As a result, all the ongoing films are stalled. Indrasis Acharya, whose Parcel, released into Friday, said, “I hope the overall situation will improve soon. I also hope that our situation will be taken care of once the theatres reopen.”


Meanwhile, the release of Raj Chakraborty’s Dharmajuddha has been postponed indefinitely. On social media, the team informed, “As per Honorable Chief Minister's advice in this Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, as a precautionary measure, we have decided to postpone the release of our film DHARMAJUDDHA until further notice, keeping in mind the well being and safety of everyone. Till then, stay safe.”
