Koltata: Man held for harassing woman passenger in metro

KOLKATA: The RPF personnel on Tuesday arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly misbehaving with a 24-year-old woman in a

metro train

moving from Masterda Surya Sen (Bansdroni) station to

Rabindra Sadan station

.


The lady had sought help over Kolkata Metro Railway’s women helpline number saying that she was being allegedly harassed by the man. According to the

spokesperson, she boarded the train at Masterda Surya Sen (Bansdroni) station and was going to

Rabindra Sadan

station.

On receiving the call, the security control of Metro Railway immediately alerted the on-duty RPF staff of all the metro stations. The lady de-boarded at Netaji Bhavan station and the on-duty RPF staff nabbed the man who was allegedly misbehaving with her. Both of them were brought to the station master’s Office.

As the lady refused to go to the local police station to lodge a complaint, the youth had to be released after taking a declaration from him.
