B’deshi man, 4 daughters arrested

Kolkata: A man and his four daughters were arrested on Saturday while attempting to return to Bangladesh illegally. The daughters — Asma Mridha, Punni Mridha, Riya Mridha and Aliza Qureshi — had illegally entered India a few years ago and had settled in Delhi with fake Indian IDs.Nannu Mridha recently crossed into India illegally to bring his daughters back. He transported them from Delhi to Bongaon, planning to cross the border. On Saturday morning, the group was spotted near the Bongaon-Bagdah road by locals who alerted the police. During questioning, Nannu revealed that their home was in Nalcity PS area of Jhalokati district in Bangladesh.A Bongaon court remanded the five accused in police custody for five days.
