Asian International School holds sixth annual sports

: Asian International School held its 6th Annual Sports Day on December 22 with great energy and enthusiasm.

The day started well with the arrival of the chief guest, Saurasish Lahiri, a former first-class cricketer. He was escorted by the members of the student council, accompanied by the band members. SD Sharma, chairman, AIS, Alok Sharma, director, AIS, Vijay Lakshmi Kumar, principal, AIS and Sneha Nandi, teacher in-charge, AIS were also present at the event.

An energetic speech by the principal addressing the chief guest and other dignitaries added posititive vibe to the environment. A well-synchronized march past by the students of the four houses — Gandhi, Ashoka, Einstein and Teresa — invoked the sportsman spirit in all. This was followed by the lightning of the flame by the four young sportsmen, Gagandeep Singh, Sashwat Karn, Animeth Srimani and Rohit Singh, all students of AIS.

The event saw various drills by the students of pre-primary, primary and the middle school. Their drills involved a variety of themes, including Christmas, patriotism, AIS achievements.

Students from classes LKG to XII competed in various track and field events. The winners were awarded with medals and certificates. Ashoka House was declared winner in the march past.
