Traffic disrupted on Pune-Bengaluru highway for 30 minutes after container truck tips over

Kolhapur: A container truck tipped over around 1.40pm on Friday along the service road of Pune-Bengaluru National Highway near the Yelur stretch in Sangli district, causing a traffic delay of nearly 30 minutes. With six-laning work under way on the highway, vehicles were being diverted onto both service roads.The truck was headed toward Kolhapur from Pune when its axle rod broke, prompting the driver to brake suddenly. The vehicle gradually toppled onto its side in the middle of the service road. No injuries were reported, an officer from the highway police division said.The highway police quickly deployed cranes and moved the overturned container truck to the side, clearing the way for the halted traffic.
