Kolhapur: Chairman of the regional inspection and evaluation committee and Karvir sub-divisional officer Mousami Chougule has issued orders to start the land acquisition survey for the Mahalaxmi Temple Area Development plan.
As per the order, information about the owner, other rightful owners, current status of land, current market rate and other assessment reports will have to be surveyed, and a report will have to be submitted to the district collector (state govt) within one month.
State govt has approved the Mahalaxmi Temple Area Development Plan worth Rs1,445.9 crore and works on the first phase have started. In the second phase, land acquisition will be carried out for which Rs781 crore will be spent.
An independent committee has been appointed under the chairmanship of Karvir provincial officer Mousami Chougule.
Secretary of the Paschim Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti (PMDS) Shivraj Naikwade said, "In the first phase of land acquisition, properties within a 10-metre area adjacent to the temple at the main gate will be acquired. The survey will check the total number of properties, their type, any ongoing legal proceedings, etc."
