Satara cops arrest 2 for heroin possession

Kolhapur: The Satara police arrested two men for allegedly possessing 12g of heroin and arriving at Shendra to sell the drug on Tuesday night.Satara's superintendent of police Tushar Doshi said the two accused — Alankar Mulik and Akshay Patil — are from Kolhapur and have been booked under sections 8 and 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. He said the market value of the drugs seized from them was around Rs 9 lakh.The detection branch of Satara taluka police Station carried out the action after it received information that at Shendre, two men were arriving in a car to sell the drugs. A special team was sent to nab the drug sellers. The police recovered the heroin from them.
