Kolhapur: Samarjeetsinh Ghatge, who contested the 2024 Kagal assembly election on NCP(SP) ticket, is going to re-join
BJP on Wednesday.
On the other hand, Pandharpur's Bhagirath Bhalke has announced to join Shiv Sena on April 12. Son of three-time MLA late Bharat Bhalke, Bhagirath contested 2024 assembly election on Congress ticket, but was defeated by margin of 8,340 against sitting BJP's MLA Samadhan Autade.
Bhalke had garnered around 1.16 lakh votes. Bhalke's wife Pranita recently won the post of president of Pandharpur municipal council.
"When I met deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde to get approvals for development works, he told me to join his party and assured that there will be no dearth of funds for the development of Pandharpur," said Bhagirath Bhalke.
"We are taking this decision because one of the Mahayuti partners is taking undue advantage of power and intimidating our workers with false cases," said Bhalke.
