Eight sheep die in Satara lightning strike

Kolhapur: A flock of sheep, as many as eight, died after lightning struck them in Morve village of Khandala tehsil of Satara district on Monday afternoon.Several parts of Satara and Kolhapur districts received rainfall on Monday. In Satara, the showers were accompanied by lightning and hail.The local authorities have assured the farmer financial help for the loss.In Kolhapur city, heavy rainfall took commuters by surprise. A power supply transformer was damaged after a branch of a tree fell on it near Mahasainik Darbar Hall Road in Shivaji Peth area.
